Planet Aid UK gets a Visit from Humana India
In early July we had the pleasure of welcoming Helle Lund who works for Humana People to People India’s HQ in Delhi.
In 1998 Birgit Soe, the Managing Director of Planet Aid UK, and Helle started the clothes collection in the Northampton and Sheffield areas.
Helle left the UK a year after we started Planet Aid UK’s clothes collection and has worked since then within our organisations in the United States and Africa. For the past 16 years Helle has been working for Humana India and she has been part of a huge growth in the Indian organisation working with over 70 programmes and employing approximately 2,000 people dealing with health, food security and education.
Helle presented Humana India’s work at our weekly key-staff meeting for the five different areas of UK and the next day for our employees in Corby. We were all impressed by the important work Humana India is doing for the poorest people in Indian society.
